Does anyone have experience mounting a rig to a vinyl wrapped car? I have 2 shoots this week with wrapped cars and want to use my rig. I'm using 2 Avengers to mount everything.

scoopin up my sloppy seconds? anyways, just use the front/rear windshields for the top, and then the hood/fender for the bottom. the bottom one doesn't really even need to stick, it just needs to serve as a support.

uhhh.... Not at all. There's more than 2 vinyl wrapped cars in the state. Don't flatter yourself. :P

I don't think the rear glass of an S2000 is going to hold anything. When did you do rig shots besides with my stuff that one time? Just wondering where you're getting the info about the second suction cup not needing to stick...

Cool, thanks for the info Orlando.

I just spoke to the owner of one of the cars and he said the wrap's coming off soon anyway, so if it messes it up he doesn't care. That, and your info, both have bolstered my confidence a bit lol.

yeah, there's 3...

anyways. yeah, no can do on the rear of an S2k... sometimes you have to go with the situation at hand. common sense says to do the rig shot from the front...

Justin, stop trollin'.

The S2000 hood flexes like a bitch, and the curvature on the OEM fenders doesn't allow for the suction cups. At least that's what happened on the last S2k I shot.

Although, this car has aftermarket fenders which were just barely wide enough to hold my suction cups. I got home from the shoot a few hrs ago, and although it was dark and I couldn't see perfectly, I don't think the cups damaged the wrap. I'll have the owner report back tomorrow, and when I shoot the next wrapped car I'll have more info.

i know OE up top did a rig shot with the suction cups on the side of the car with the rig sticking up in front of it. pretty sure I remember him posting a set up shot of it. check his blog, if it's not there, then maybe he'll be kind enough to post it. made for a pretty rad shot.

Use the windows.

I personally wouldn't put my suction cups on the wrap itself because there is a chance the suction will mess up the wrap.
