    Need help with night shots

I went out and tried to shoot my and a friends car in the dark on a lit-up supermarket parking lot.
But almost every picture is blurry.

I was shooting with an EOS 1000D + Nifty Fifty + tripod.
Some in automatic w/o flash, but most in manual, with full opened aperture, and I played with the timing.
Can someone of the pros tell me why my shots are that blurry and what I could do next time better?

looks like your focus. if its to dark your camera wont autofocus right so use manual focus next time. also use the timer dont touch the camera. set it to the 2sec timer and have it shoot like that unless you have a remote trigger.

nifty 50 sucks in low light for focus. Go ahead and switch on manual mode, live view, and zoom into a key point (headlight, grill, wheel spokes etc whatever you are trying to focus on). Also use a shutter timer so you dont shake the camera during the photo. And give it a whirl!

One trick i do is: Bring a flash light, point at a focus point and use a spot focus on that specific area, this will "assist" the camera in seeing proper contrasting lines to focus on.

I think I get it now!

I don't know how to explain it, but is there something that I can do against those "blurry" lights?

Depending on what camera you have, like what was said before, you'd wanna take the photo with the mirror up setting or with a remote. The "blurry lights" are from either you moving the camera when pressing the shutter button or the shutter itself. A tiny bit of movement can do that. Awesome improvement though man! Keep it up. Also if you want the lights not to be so bright, try underexposing the camera a bit (raising the shutter speed)

Yeah the easy and best way to made photos in night mode is you just make these photos in lighting and always hang a extra LED light with your camera out of your studio because this LED light is very helpful to make photos in night mode and the result is very fine in night mode of these photos....
